Suburb close to Sumter's parks and trails
On the edge of Sumter's pond-flecked greenbelt, Spectrum offers a mix of suburban subdivisions and large lots lined with pine woodland. Residents can get a little more room on this side of town but remain close to Sumter's attractions and amenities. "The older areas are where the lots get larger," says Realtor Talmadge Tobias with Re/MAX Summit. Tobias has been selling homes for 19 years and worked as a city manager for 39 years. "With the newer developments, the lots aren't as large. So, these established areas are a big draw. It's also got that old-fashioned southern suburb feel--the area is quiet, and people enjoy that privacy."
Dillon Park is where the kids from Spectrum will come to practice football and baseball.
Families in Spectrum often walk around the Swan Lake to enjoy nature close to home.

Tobias also notes the relaxing nature of the greenbelt. "I grew up swimming in Second Millpond--it's been there as long as I can remember. And the trail system is very serene and very popular; it runs from Swan Lake north to Dillon Park.
Spectrum is also close to Palmetto Park, which "has a world-class clay tennis center," Tobias says. The park also has a sports complex, playground and picnic areas.
