Instead of grazing horses or cattle, at K-Bar Ranch, there is a meticulously designed, master-planned community with homes that offer plenty of space to spread out—plus great amenities and nearby schools. “This is a mostly residential area that’s been developed in phases for the last 20 years, and the commercial side is still catching up,” says James Ruffolo, a local realtor with Charles Rutenberg Realty. “But we’ve got perfect, well-rated schools, one of the biggest draws for families. It’s probably 10 minutes to major store outlets and restaurants, and we’re right on the line with Pasco County, so we have easy access to all its amenities.” While many homebuyers are scouting out Florida, “buyers are heading to Tampa specifically because it’s more affordable than places like Miami,” Ruffolo says. “People are coming to K-Bar Ranch.”

Situated just east of Interstate 75, K-Bar Ranch offers residents quick access to Gulf Coast destinations like Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg for work or play. Despite this, the neighborhood is slightly off the beaten path, and without public transportation available within the community, a car is a must for those living here.

Hugging the edge of a wilderness preserve, K-Bar Ranch is surrounded by an abundance of Florida greenery. Palm trees, lush lawns and blooming flowers are carefully cultivated on the shady streets of the neighborhood’s subdivisions. Homes in K-Bar Ranch are predominantly two-story stucco houses built in the 2000s, often paired with a two-car garage. “There are a lot of large, two-story, four- or five-bedroom homes in K-Bar Ranch. It’s pretty family-oriented,” says Ruffolo. Typically, smaller houses sell for around $300,000 to $400,000, while larger homes sell for between $500,000 and $1.19 million. “Prices have risen for sure, and it’s already hard to get anything in New Tampa in general that’s under $300,000,” Ruffolo says. “Inventory is still on the low side, and the demand for homes is still there.” Many amenities are right at home. Residents enjoy a clubhouse with a pool, a park with tennis and pickleball courts and even a small playground for the little ones, all within the neighborhood’s subdivisions.
