Wildrose
Homes with well-kept yards and scenic ridgeline views
The Wildrose Ranch subdivision comprises the bulk of the neighborhood, with Spanish Revival-style homes built in the late 1990s. California Meadows fills the rest, featuring many 1980s ranch-style properties, some with half-timber details. Both subdivisions are similar, each HOA-run and featuring streets lined with palm trees, sidewalks and views of the nearby ridgelines. "Prices here are lower than homes farther north, where houses can sell for over $1 million," Gage says. Prices typically range from $650,000 to $850,000. The neighborhood has a CAP Index Crime Score of 2 out of 10, compared to the national average of 4.Grocery hauls and shopping close by
The Shops at Dos Lagos is an open-concept mall 3 miles north. Shoppers can peruse everything from local boutiques to large retailers like Express and Loft. “They host live music there and events for every holiday that people stop in for,” Gage says. The development is also home to a Trader Joe’s for grocery hauls and restaurants such as Wood Ranch, a laid-back barbecue place. Miguel’s California Mexican Cocina is another popular spot, with patio dining and views of the neighboring lake. Crossings at Corona, a mile farther, offers even more options. Closer to home, Tom's Farms is a 2-mile drive and sells locally sourced produce and goods. “Tom’s is very popular,” Gage says. “They sell specialty items and candy and have a great sandwich shop.”Santiago High School students can earn college credits
Corona-Norco Unified School District serves the community. Niche gives the district an A and ranks it the No. 3 best district in Riverside County. Temescal Valley Elementary School earns an A-minus. Home of the Titans, the neighborhood school offers several after-school programs, with activities focusing on STEAM, robotics and more. El Cerrito Middle School receives an A-minus, and Santiago High School scores an A. The high school has college-preparedness programs, including Career and Technical Education courses and AVID (Advanced Via Individual Determination). The latter pairs students with mentors who help enrolled students develop skills needed for post-secondary education. From community parks to golf and mountaintop views
Wildrose Ranch Community Park on Knabe Road features a playground, exercise equipment and open green space for pick-up games. California Meadows Park, on Clay Canyon Drive, is also in the neighborhood and has similar amenities. Glen Ivy Golf Club is an 18-hole course, open to the public, backdropped by the mountains. Locals can catch great views from the peaks along hiking and driving routes, such as Skyline Drive, which has a trailhead.Getting around on Interstate 15 and State Route 91
Interstate 15 borders to the east, leading to central Corona and the adjoining Corona Regional Medical Center, 9 miles away. The interstate connects with State Route 91, which connects to Orange, 32 miles west. “A lot of people commute there for work,” Gage says. “The interstate can back up, so I know a handful of people who pay to take the express lanes.”The city works with locals to mitigate wildfires
According to Gage, the community does experience wildfires. “Everyone does what they can to prevent them if possible, and insurance policies are usually between $3,000 and $5,000,” he says. FireSafe Corona is a community-based program that educates locals about fire prevention and practices regular mitigation efforts.
