A NASA launch base expansion will boost Temperanceville’s local economy
Thirteen miles southwest of Chincoteague and 10 miles from Wallops Island, Temperanceville is a rural farming community for people wanting to live close to NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility and some of Virginia’s best beaches. Rocket launches from the flight facility attract both workers and tourists to Temperanceville, a trend that is only expected to continue as Wallops expands its facility. “We’re excited by the prospect of future upgrades to the Wallops Space Flight Facilities and the number of jobs they could create, such as the recent addition of Rocket Labs,” says Realtor Ben Clark with Dockside Properties.

Some properties are equipped with farm equipment such as barns and stables, and the town frequently has land for sale for buyers looking to build their dream properties.
