About 15 miles east of Cincinnati is Terrace Park, a suburb with unique homes and a community feel. “We have events every month,” says Amy Hacket Roe of Coldwell Banker Realty, and 14 years of real estate experience in the area. “There’s the annual lighting of the green, Easter egg hunts and the Historical Society is always having events and fundraisers.” The neighborhood has some of the strongest schools in the state, and Hacket Roe cites that as a major reason many clients move to the area. There is a mix of new construction for those who want modern builds and houses from the turn of the century. The residents like to stay active, and it’s easy with hiking trails and proximity to parks and the Little Miami River. The area has the feeling of being on vacation as it’s golfcart friendly.
No cookie-cutter housing
The median price for a single-family home in Terrace Park is nearly $720,000. There is a great variety of housing styles, from ranch-style builds to Colonials to large Victorian homes. “There’s nothing cookie-cutter about the homes,” says Hackett Roe. “I live in a home from 1890, but there is new construction happening all the time.” Houses tend to sit on quiet streets with only residential traffic. The roads often end in private cul-de-sacs, and houses have driveways and garages for parking. Homes are on large lots with well-maintained, large green yards. Mature trees provide shade and privacy. There are not many sidewalks in the area, so joggers and dog walkers need to be aware of traffic.
