Spacious lots with proximity to the heart of the city in North Terre Haute

North Terre Haute offers homes with room to breathe within a 15-minute drive of everything Terre Haute has to offer. “The houses are farther apart in North Terre Haute and it’s more rural,” says Cy Marlow, a Terre Haute resident of 40 years and principal broker and Realtor of L.J. Michaels Inc. “That area was developed later than the inner city and it’s more like a suburb. It has stable neighborhoods that are very much family [oriented] without the noise or truck traffic.”

Markle Mill Park has fishing and kayaking

Since the mill dam was demolished in 2023, Markle Mill Park has become increasingly popular. The dam's removal reconnected 152 miles of streams, improving water flow and allowing fish and other aquatic species to migrate freely. This has greatly benefited local wildlife and conservation efforts. As a result, more people are visiting the creek for recreational activities such as kayaking and fishing.Just 5 miles away, Collett Park offers a variety of amenities, including a playground, tennis courts, and open fields perfect for soccer and football. Meanwhile, the iconic Wigwam Skate and Event Center has been a staple in North Terre Haute for decades, hosting a range of special events for kids, families, and adults. The nostalgia continues at Moonlite Drive-In Theater, where visitors can enjoy both first-run movies and classic films, especially during the holidays.

About 15 minutes to downtown Terre Haute

Park Avenue and Clinton Street/Lafayette Avenue are the area's main roads. U.S. Route 41 is a north-south artery for western Indiana. Union Hospital, a major employer, is about 5 miles away, while other key employers like Indiana State University and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology are within a 15-minute drive. Several active rail lines run through the area, occasionally causing traffic delays.

Living near Otter Creek means flooding is possible, though rare, with the last major flood occurring in 2008. Tornadoes are also a risk.
