The Tribute is a master-planned community set on a peninsula that juts into Lewisville Lake and includes two golf courses, hiking and biking trails, playgrounds and pools. Properties, which include townhouses and single-family homes built in the late 2000s, range from around $500,000 to over $2 million for those with water or golf course views. "While it is primarily an entertainment destination, it is the only mall in our little city," says Brenda Patton, an associate broker with Ebby Halliday Realtors. Beer-oriented spots there include Windmills Brewery, Rock & Brews and Truck Yard, a local chain with an outdoor beer garden. Stores include SCHEELS, a vast sporting goods shop complete with a saltwater aquarium and indoor Ferris wheel.
Beyond Grandscape are smaller shopping centers like The Colony Crossing on Highway 121, which has several small businesses and eateries. It's less than 10 miles to Plano, where there's high-end shopping at Legacy West and big-box stores like Dillard's and Macy's at The Shops at Willow Bend. Stonebriar Centre, in nearby Frisco, is another large mall with chain restaurants.
Windmills is a microbrewery and international eatery offering live music in Austin Ranch.
Commercial businesses are located throughout The Colony.
