Trails link Northaven homes, and highways facilitate travel to Denver

Northaven is a Thornton neighborhood where trails and sidewalks connect homes to nature, schools and commercial centers. These paths also support local travel. “It’s convenient commute-wise because you’ve got easy access to either U.S. Highway 85 or Interstate 25. Then, there’s also a lot of stuff around there you can walk to,” says Kristen Miller, broker and owner of A Perfect Location Realty, who has over two decades of experience. “Denver’s probably, depend[ing] on traffic, it could be half an hour away. So, you could be at all baseball games, football games or the [Ball Arena]. Colorado is a big sports state, so for that to be that close, it’s cool.”

Condos, townhouses and cul-de-sacs with single-family homes

Subdivisions have cul-de-sacs with split-level, bilevel and New Traditional homes. “This neighborhood [has] older houses, but what’s nice about them is they’re solid-built homes,” Miller says regarding the Northaven subdivision. “There’s mature landscaping, so you have all the trees and the privacy.” Single-family homes are priced between about $370,000 and $610,000. Condos and townhouses are also common. They share a similar price range of approximately $280,000 to $550,000.

A trail connects Eastlake’s nature preserve to neighborhood parks

Woodglen Meadows Park has a playground and multipurpose fields. The Brantner Gulch Open Space is home to a bike-friendly trail that connects Northaven Park’s basketball courts, baseball field and playground to Eastlake No. 3 Park and Nature Preserve. At Eastlake, a path runs between the tennis courts and a nearly 2-mile-long paved nature trail loop. “There are lots of dogs to pet, but it’s definitely not overcrowded. It’s expansive. It’s two different lakes, and there’s no recreational boating or things like that, so it’s quiet, and it connects directly to a lot of the local neighborhoods,” Kyner says.

School choice in Adams 12 and neighborhood schools

All Northaven homes are in the Adams 12 Five Star Schools district boundary. Students are assigned to a school based on their residential address. School choice is also an option, allowing students to apply to any district school during the open enrollment period. Many homes in the eastern region of the neighborhood are zoned for Skyview Elementary, which earns a B grade from Niche, and Shadow Ridge Middle School, which receives a C-plus. Homes are also in the attendance zone of Horizon High, a B-plus-graded school. The high school offers all students the opportunity to participate in S.O.A.R., a program designed to promote workforce readiness and prepare students for post-secondary education plans. The experience includes advanced placement courses and experiential learning.
