The Haven at York Street offers suburban conveniences
The Haven at York Street is a subdivision that reflects the general character of the neighborhoods on the developing north end of the greater Denver metro. “In general, the farther north you go there … it’s all newer. So, modern amenities, modern community,” says Jessica Hernandez, a broker with Right Choice Realty. Located in the Denver suburb of Thornton, this community puts pocket parks with playgrounds and a walking trail right outside many doorsteps. Additionally, the neighborhood is down the road from a dense commercial corridor anchored by the Denver Premium Outlets. The shopping destination means residents are within minutes of weekend excursions to luxury and designer brand stores, as well as sushi and craft beer outings. “The big draw up there, too, is not only the golf courses, but also there’s a fantastic outlet mall up there with conveniences for shopping and restaurants," Hernandez says.

Dense neighborhood with early 21st-century Traditionals
A brick monument sign with the neighborhood’s name etched beside a leaf greets those entering the Haven from York Street. The entrance, further marked by a narrow and grassy median with trees and small bushes, leads prospective buyers to a neighborhood filled with Traditional homes dating back to the 2000s. Most homes occupy compact and neatly manicured lots no larger than a quarter-acre. With size and conditions playing some part, single-family homes here can go from about $560,000 to nearly $900,000.

Shopping, dining and burning off energy at Denver Premium Outlets
The Denver Premium Outlets is an open-air mall with stores from brands like Michael Kors, Hugo Boss, Nike and Adidas. Amenities include open seating areas with water fountains, a playground with hanging pods and an indoor dining court called the Food Pavilion. Dining options include Tacos Los Nortenos, which serves authentic Mexican street fare, and Sachi Sushi Denver. The Japanese restaurant is easy to spot with its outdoor patio, which features statues of two red sumo wrestlers.
The outlets neighbor another open mall called the Orchard Town Center, where popular local staples include 3 Margaritas and Law’s Chophouse. Hernandez praises 3 Margaritas’ food and calls the location “probably the most beautiful” of all the ones across greater Denver. “It’s a super authentic experience,” she says, adding the restaurant is also ideal for large parties.

“Huge asset” in E-470 toll road
With no public transit serving the neighborhood, residents here will need a car to commute. The neighborhood is a short distance south of the E-470 toll road. “Denver has fantastically horrible traffic. If you can get on that toll road and can afford to use it, it’s definitely going to save a lot of brain damage for you,” Hernandez says. “I don’t live all that convenient to that toll road, but if I did, I would hop on that regularly. It’s a huge, huge asset to be near that.”
The neighborhood is also a few minutes east of Interstate 25, which goes straight toward downtown Denver, about 17 miles south. Located about 24 miles southeast, the Denver International Airport is the area’s hub for commercial flights. The CommonSpirit St. Anthony North Hospital is the nearest major medical institution.
