On the banks of the Maumee River, North End offers a little something for everyone: scenic beauty, proximity to downtown and plenty of retail. When traveling through this part of town, the backdrop of Toledo's historic industrial area breaks into scenic lakefront vistas. "What you will see are kids at play, riding bikes, and shooting hoops." Gridded streets with sidewalks are shaded by mature maple trees. Chain-link fencing is common, although garages are not.

Historic and newer houses
The population boom in the early 1900s brought a diverse collection of housing and architectural styles to the area, many of which remain. Craftsman bungalows and brick ranch-style homes are most common. Extensive renovations are often needed in historic homes. For those looking for move-in ready, newer split-levels and restored homes are rare and sell quickly. Prices range between $23,000 and $177,000. Lots run between 1/8 and 1/4 acre, suitable for small gardens or gathering areas. Most homes do have garages; however, those that don't use driveways or park along the wide streets.
