The Washington Local School and Toledo City School districts serve the Whitmer-Trilby community. Students can start their education at Meadowvale Elementary School, which has a C-plus from Niche. Washington Junior High School has a C grade. Whitmer High School, which has a B-minus, has a robust music department, offering band and orchestra classes. The community also has six private schools.

Easy access to Toledo and Michigan
Downtown Toledo is a 7-mile drive, and Whitmer-Trilby has access to major thoroughfares, including Interstate 475. Both Alexis and Laskey Roads serve as east-west commercial corridors and connect to the city of Sylvania in the west. Secor Road runs south to the Westgate Shopping Center and The University of Toledo. The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority has several stops in town, including along Secor, Jackman and Tremainsville roads.
