A diverse area connected by a shared history

Sprawling North Jackson encompasses the upper section of the largest city in Mississippi. "It's an urban area with lots of different parts. There's everything from apartments to multimillion-dollar homes," says Realtor Jenny Price, who has eight years of experience in the area and works with Pricepoint Co. Despite this wide variation, North Jackson has museums emblematic of the area's culture and history to ground it among plentiful new development including modern housing and open-air shopping centers.

Affordable housing in a wide selection

Bordered by the Pearl River, North Jackson has many winding residential roads filled with single-family homes and smaller yards decorated with trimmed bushes. "North Jackson was mostly built between the 1950s to 1970s," Price says. Because of the development during this time period, midcentury ranch-style homes are predominant throughout the area. Home prices vary greatly throughout the area, as options range from homes in need of renovations that can be priced between $20,000 and $100,000 to renovated homes and contemporary estates that cost up to $1.5 million.
