Ridgemark
Neighborhood in Tres Pinos, California
San Benito County 95023
Dominated by Spanish and Mediterranean single-family homes
Single-family homes account for around 84% of the neighborhood’s property mix. Most homes are steps from the Ridgemark Golf Club and Resort and circle the course. “There’s only one entry for guests, but residents have about three or four entry points for which they need a key card,” Carbone says. Most houses were built in Spanish and Mediterranean styles between the 1970s and 1990s. Newer homes built over the past five years are usually one- or two-story contemporary builds. Prices range from $540,000 for a townhouse to $1.3 million for a new two-story house. Outside the gates, Mediterranean and Spanish style homes can have lots of up to 29 acres. Prices range from $725,000 for a move-in ready property to $2 million for a custom home. It’s common for neighbors to have multi-car garages, patios, pools and front yards. The Ridgemark HOA fee is up to $300 covering maintenance, security and the common area. The terrain varies between hilly and flat, with trees and hedges meticulously placed as decorative touches on each property. “It’s a great walking area,” Carbone says. "You see people all the time walking their dogs, or families riding their bikes.”Anchored by Ridgemark Golf Club and Resort
The Ridgemark Golf Club and Resort is the area’s premiere recreation spot. The course was once a turkey farm, and from those origins came a nickname, “Old Farm.” Golfers can tee up at the public 18-hole course or practice swings at the driving range and putting greens. Outside the fairways, locals can stay active at the tennis courts. “The clubhouse is a great social area where residents often dance. They host events for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. They let the community host their own events,” Carbone says. Pocket parks sit on side streets as designated green areas with walking trails. A mile from the neighborhood is Valley View Park, where kids can cool off in the splash area or run free in the playground. Folks can also take advantage of the park’s walking trails and basketball court.Hollister High receives Green Ribbon Award
Many students in the neighborhood will attend Ladd Lane Elementary School through eighth grade. The C-plus school provides intramural sports for grades four through eight. Hollister High is rated B by Niche and is one of 14 schools in California that received a California Green Ribbon School in 2023. The award recognizes schools that promote and educate students on sustainability and climate action.50 miles from San Jose
Ridgemark has very little public transportation, so most people drive. Highway 25 borders the neighborhood’s east, connecting people to downtown Hollister in 4 miles and San Jose in 50 miles. The nearest metro airport is the San Jose Mineta International Airport, 54 miles away. Travelers can take nonstop flights to over 40 destinations in the United States and abroad.Nearby to wineries and downtown shops
Hollister is known for its wineries and vineyards. Leal Vineyards and Winery pours its award-winning varietals with fresh dishes from the MOHI Farm restaurant, which sources its ingredients from local farmers. The Ridgemark Bar and Grill is open daily, offering traditional cocktails, sandwiches and salads. FlapJacks Breakfast and Grill is a popular brunch spot known for its variety of pancakes like apple walnut. Shops and restaurants are 4 miles away in downtown Hollister. Shoppers will find different boutiques and antique shops. Off Airline Highway is a Target for essentials, and regular groceries can be brought at Safeway.
