Ranch-style homes and palm trees line the streets
Mortimore follows a grid-style layout that forms a web at the center of the neighborhood. Split diagonally by Interstate 10, the larger western portion features older constructions while the smaller eastern part features a planned development of newer construction homes. Palms and oak trees pepper the flat desert landscape. Many homes have chain-link or brick fences and compact front yards with enough space for a patio bordering rose bushes and a few decorative trees. Though street parking is plentiful, many homes have carports or attached garages. On the west side, the home styles are ranches and bungalows, many with red and white brick. On the eastern side, all the homes are single-family contemporary— some with a Spanish mission influence characterized by stucco walls painted with warm colors and tile roofs. Prices range from $250,000 to $400,000, with the average price hovering around the $350,000 mark.Locals get active at multiple green spaces
