Sitting just a few miles north of downtown Tucson, Mountain View provides its residents a taste of downtown at a more affordable price. Mountain View has several diverse restaurant options for its residents, including Mexican fare at La Botana Tacos, known for its two-for-one margaritas. Tucson’s annual Dia de Los Muertos event
Every November, Tucson has a Dia de Los Muertos event, which translates to the ‘Day of the Dead.’ This event has become beloved by the community. It was created to serve the public need to mourn, reflect and celebrate the universal experience of Death, through their ancestors, loved ones and the living. “It’s a big parade,” Jankowski said. “Over 10,000 people walk in the parade. It’s so peaceful.”

For Pre-K through 5th grade, students may attend Frances Owen Holaway Elementary School, which earned a B grade from Niche. From there, they may head to Amphitheater Middle School, which earned a C-plus grade from Niche. For high school, students may go to Amphitheater High School, which earned a B-minus grade from Niche and boasts an impressive athletics program. Academy Adventures Midtown is a charter school located in Mountain View that provides its K-5 students with Chromebooks and computer programming classes.

Bike riding on The Chuck Huckelberry Loop
While Mountain View doesn’t have any parks within the neighborhood, opportunities for outdoor enjoyment aren’t far away. A 2-mile drive north is The Chuck Huckelberry Loop, which is a system of paved paths and short segments of buffered bike lanes connecting the Cañada del Oro, Rillito, Santa Cruz, and Pantano River Parks with the Julian Wash and Harrison Road Greenway. The loop includes 137 miles of paved pathways.
