Union High School Freshman Academy, rated A, houses ninth-grade students, followed by Union High School, which receives an A-minus and offers 24 Advanced Placement courses.
Since 1980, Siegi's Sausage Factory has served up links to Tulsa's Austrian and German heritage with a bevy of handmade bratwursts. "Siegi's German food is really, really good," says Tiffany Johnson, a Realtor for Chinowth & Cohen. "That's the main restaurant that comes to mind when I think about this area." Shopping centers and restaurants line the main thoroughfares around Chimney Hills Estates, saving residents a trip downtown for a good meal. The Big Biscuit has homestyle breakfast options, notably the fluffy biscuits covered in sausage gravy. Ludger's Bavarian Cakery is popular for its pastries and sweet treats, whether it's a celebratory cake or a morning croissant. Plus, a Walmart is along 81st Street in the Forest Trails Shopping Center.
Chimney Hills Estates is a few miles from several major interstates, including the Mingo Valley Expressway and the Creek Turnpike toll road. Downtown Tulsa is about 16 miles away, accessible through several local and major roads. Tulsa's public transportation system, Tulsa Transit, has stops less than 2 miles from the neighborhood, but residents tend to drive. Hillcrest Hospital South offers outpatient and inpatient services 2 miles away.
The loop trail at Crescent Park offers a walking path around the ponds, where it's not uncommon to see anglers at work. Dog owners can take their pups to the expansive Biscuit Acres Dog Park located inside Hunter Park. The park is separated into small and large dog areas, with hydrants and wide open fields for dogs to romp. The neighborhood is also near the private MeadowBrook Country Club, home to a par-72 course that hosts amateur and inter-club tournaments.
