Suburbs between local businesses and Broken Arrow Expressway
Home to one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpieces, Midtown is known for its mix of exceptional custom builds and more traditional single-family homes, as well as its proximity to downtown Tulsa. "Midtown is one of the most desirable places in Tulsa,” says Lori Cain, a Realtor at OwnTulsa with over 20 years of Midtown real estate experience. “It's a place for people who want to be close to the culture in downtown Tulsa but also see their neighbors walking around nearby parks and local businesses.” Settled off Broken Arrow Expressway within a few miles of the Arkansas River, Midtown combines quiet, suburban streets with easy access to local culture and Tulsa’s city life.

Small midcentury styles and sprawling custom builds
While Midtown is known around Tulsa for housing massive custom-built single-family homes, most notably Wright's Westhope mansion, there are also many familiar single-family styles throughout the area. Bungalows, Cape Cod and ranch-style homes built in the 1930s through 50s are common in Midtown, selling for $150,000 to $800,000 depending on renovation levels, square footage and whether the grassy lot takes up a quarter acre or upward of a half-acre. Expansive custom builds with more than 4,000 square feet of space, backyard pools and architectural styles ranging from stately 1920s Colonial Revivals to new traditional Craftsman designs pepper the neighborhood on small acreages and tighter lots, selling for $900,000 to $4.7 million. Locals often walk their dogs past private driveways and tidy landscaping along Midtown’s mature tree-shaded streets despite its lack of residential sidewalks.

Tulsa Tennis Club, Pig Park and recreation destinations
Founded in 1926, the private Tulsa Tennis Club provides space for community members to improve their games on well-maintained clay courts or swim with neighbors in the outdoor pool. Dog walkers and families often spend time at the grassy, tree-shaded pocket park off South Birmingham Avenue called Pig Park after the 2,000-pound bronze pig sculpture standing in its center. Midtown is also minutes away from Woodward Park’s themed gardens and Gathering Place’s riverside trails and kingdom of richly planted playgrounds, letting locals access some of Tulsa’s best green spaces less than 3 miles from home.
Pig Park in Midtown started as a friendly neighbor wanting to improve their neighborhood.

Locally owned favorites and Utica Square
“People in Midtown have a passion for supporting their local, family-owned businesses,” Cain says. Many of these businesses can be found in strip malls along Harvard Avenue, like Southern Agriculture’s pet supplies and Trenchers Delicatessen’s homemade breads. Chain staples like Aldi, CVS and Walmart can also be found on the same stretch of road. The outdoor shopping mall, Utica Square, is half a mile from Midtown, connecting dozens of retail favorites like Anthropologie, Madewell and Athleta by networks of wide sidewalks, parking lots and pockets of tree-shaded landscaping. Other favorite shopping and dining destinations like Brookside and Cherry Street are within 3 miles of Midtown.
