Woodbine
Suburban Neighborhood in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Tulsa County 74133
Steep gabled roofs atop Tudor-style cottages
Brick Craftsman- and Tudor-style cottages with gabled roofs give Woodbine’s residential areas a dose of country-style charm. Triangular roof accents rise beneath leafy green canopies on manicured lots that include driveways and tidy front lawns. Many homes date to the 1980s, with some newer builds in the eastern section. Buyers can expect to pay more for a home here than they might in downtown Tulsa, with prices starting at $400,000 for a 4-bedroom home and climbing to $1.5 million for a grand 5,000-square foot estate with a pool and several acres of land. Most residential streets lack sidewalks, but there isn’t much traffic to worry about in those areas because of the layout.Ride to Riggs Park
Woodbine is a short distance from Riggs Park, a small but prominent green space on the other side of South Mingo Road. The paved walking path meanders around the perimeter, crossing a footbridge over a trickle of stream along the way. There’s also a play area where kids can meet up with friends and blow off steam. On the eastern side of the Creek Highway, fishermen try their luck at Liberty Trail Pond, and pups greet their neighbors at Rose West Dog Park. ONE Beach Volleyball Courts near South Garnett Road are primitive but set within a semi-private wooded lot with a circular parking area. Cedar Ridge Country Club offers swimming, tennis and golfing opportunities a short drive south.Home of Cedar Ridge Elementary
Woodbine students start their academic journeys at Cedar Ridge Elementary on South Mingo Road. After that, they’ll funnel into the Union School District’s middle school centers before finishing at Union High School. The high school offers various AP courses and STEM programs in biomedical and computer sciences. All these schools earn a Niche grade of B or higher.Tulsa’s Creek Turnpike
The Creek Turnpike curves along the northern border of Woodbine, offering convenient access to the rest of the city. Residents only have to drive 20 minutes to reach downtown Tulsa or catch a plane at Tulsa International Airport. There’s no public transportation in this part of town, so folks who live here need cars to get around.PB & B burgers at Plaza del Sol
Plaza del Sol is the place to go when hunger strikes. Society Burger’s Classic offering has broad appeal, but adventurous carnivores gravitate to the PB & B burger with peanut butter, bacon, jalapeno jelly and cheddar cheese. Ridge Grill features an Italian-inspired menu with sausage-stuffed Portobello mushroom caps and Wagyu beef and truffle ravioli. Night owls can stop by PJ’s Pub & Grill to enjoy pub grub and live music on the weekends. Red Canyon Wellness massage spa, IV Nutrition wellness center, Venetian Nails & Spa, and Cannatopia Tulsa occupy Plaza del Sol’s other storefronts. Locals head to Sprout’s Farmers Market or ALDI by Route 64 to stock up on groceries.
Crime
By Tulsa standards, Woodbine has an exceptionally low CAP Index score. The score is also slightly below the national average. The area’s low population density, distance from the city center and higher-than-average median household income are likely contributing factors.
