Kids in Lee Acres can walk to school
Located in Tupelo, Mississippi, the birthplace of Elvis Presley, Lee Acres is an established neighborhood that’s home to North Mississippi Medical Center. The hospital is one of the city’s largest employers and Pierce Street Elementary and Tupelo Middle are also here, so many residents can walk to work or school. “You can get nice-sized homes and great-sized lots in that area. Those older brick homes are really well-built and decently priced,” says Vicki West, a Realtor with Crye-Leike Realtors and a long-time Tupelo resident. “It’s one of the more affordable neighborhoods where the homes are in good condition. People can still move to Mississippi and get a good deal.”

It has an elegant type of feel to it. It’s one of the places where couples will go to celebrate anniversaries or special occasions,” says Kathy Thompson, who grew up in Tupelo and works at the Tupelo Visitors Center. “Everything there is good, but my No. 1 favorite is the broccoli bites.” Following South Gloster Street, less than a mile north of the neighborhood, leads to a Walmart Neighborhood Market.
