It has an elegant type of feel to it. The neighborhood’s Lee Acres Park on Fillmore Drive has a playground and multiple courts for pickleball and indoor basketball. Just north, activities at All in1Adventures Go-Karts & Lanes include go-kart racing, bowling and arcade games.Lee Acres is near U.S. Route 45
Tupelo residents largely rely on their cars to get around the city. North Mississippi Medical Center, a 640-bed facility, is located in the neighborhood on South Gloster Street. Downtown is a 3-mile drive via President Avenue. “Tupelo’s a small city. There are only about 40,000 people here. There are seldom times that you sit in traffic,” Thompson says. “Main Street and Gloster are two of our main streets. If a train is coming through there, you might wait in traffic, but that’s the only time.” U.S. Route 45 is just east for trips out of town and stretches from Mobile, Alabama, to Michigan’s Lake Superior. Lee Acres is served by the Tupelo Public School District. Students may attend Parkway Elementary for kindergarten through second grade before moving on to Pierce Street Elementary for third through sixth grades. The elementary schools score Niche grades of A and A-minus respectively. From there, students can move on to A-rated Tupelo Middle School. Tupelo High has an A-minus rating and offers a variety of sports programs, including bowling and golf.
