Spring Lake
Neighborhood in Tupelo, Mississippi
Lee County 38801
Large homes with four or more bedrooms, plus lots available for building
The community is full of multilevel homes built with traditional architecture and featuring four or more bedrooms. These homes can go from $475,000 to $540,000. Larger homes of more than 4,000 square feet often list between $600,000 and $800,000. There are also some lots available for building at around $40,000 per acre. Houses tend to have garages and well-manicured lawns with small trees and bushes. Though the community lacks sidewalks, wide streets make walking to a neighbor’s house possible.Tennis courts and a pool in the community, and Ballard Park nearby
For their HOA fees, residents get access to the community’s tennis courts, clubhouse and pool. They can also go fishing in the neighborhood’s namesake Spring Lake. Several green spaces sit within a few miles, including Ballard Park, which has a skateboarding zone and a nearly 3-mile trail system among its amenities. The park is receiving renovations including a new, inclusive playground for children of all abilities. “In comparison to what it used to have, it’s impressive just to look at it,” Murphy says. Just south of Ballard Park is the BankPlus Sportsplex, which has nine baseball diamonds. To the northeast, Hancock Park has three basketball courts. North of the community, Skate Zone of Tupelo is a kid-friendly roller-skating rink with food and games. The Tupelo Public School District and partnerships with local colleges
Students are served by the Tupelo Public School District. Students in kindergarten through second grade can attend Parkway Elementary School, which has an A Niche rating. Lawndale Elementary School, for grades 3-5, holds an A-minus score. Milam Elementary School, exclusively for grade 6, earns an A, as does Tupelo Middle School. At Tupelo High School, students can take dual credit college classes through partnerships with Delta State University and Itawamba Community College. The school has an A grade.Access to the Tupelo Elvis Festival and concerts at Cadence Bank Arena
The community is close to the excitement of downtown Tupelo, which hosts events throughout the year. The Tupelo Elvis Festival is a multi-day celebration of Elvis Presley’s life and music. Performances from tribute artists — not impersonators — are the event’s headliner, but the festival also includes a 5K run and a youth day among other activities. Cadence Bank Arena hosts concerts and sports events. The Tupelo Farmers’ Depot is held downtown on Saturdays from May through October. There are several churches just outside the neighborhood along South Thomas Street.Close to Tupelo's downtown and airport, but life stays quiet
Natchez Trace Parkway is west of the neighborhood. Just north of the area, West Main Street can take drivers into downtown Tupelo, about 5 miles east. North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo is less than a 5-mile drive, as is Tupelo Regional Airport. Murphy says the area does not get overly noisy despite the airport getting daily use. Tupelo has a relatively high risk of tornadoes and was hit by an especially strong one in 2014 that caused damage to homes and killed one person.Giant drinks at D'Casa and Mississippi Delta food at The Gin Restaurant
Several local and chain restaurants are found around West Main Street, just north of the neighborhood. D’Casa is a popular Mexican restaurant with giant drinks and traditional entrees, while Goodness Gracious specializes in soul food. Around 3 miles west, The Gin Restaurant is an upscale eatery with a menu inspired by food in the Mississippi Delta. A Walmart Supercenter sits across West Main Street. Downtown has boutiques like L.A. Green Tupelo.
