In Pennsylvania's Montgomery County, fresh produce, quaint homesteads and fall traditions are a few aspects of living in Worcester Township. "Worcester is a bedroom community that boasts the lowest property taxes in the County," says one local who has lived there for several years. "People move here because of the bucolic landscape; however, there is a good amount of development in the township." Between farmlands and stretches of verdant hills are planned communities such as Sunnybrook Estates and Crown Point Manor.

The township has a variety of home styles, from modern farmhouses and ranch-style bungalows to contemporary homes with distinct Colonial influences. Those looking for newer residences may find their dream home in Bellflower by Toll Brothers luxury community. Buyers may also choose convenient townhomes, including more recent move-in ready constructions inside Reserve at Center Square. Worcester houses often enter the market at $600,000 to over $1 million. On average, many properties are valued between $150 to $350 per square foot.

The award-winning Methacton School District serves the township, and each local school has also earned high marks on Niche. Worcester Elementary is open to kindergarten to fourth-grade students, while fifth to sixth-graders attend Skyview Upper Elementary. At Skyview, students can expect a six-day cycle for special area courses and dedicated flex time for support. Arcola Intermediate School enrolls from seventh to eighth grade and offers daily expressive art classes. The remaining students will likely attend Methacton High School to the southwest. The high school promises Vocational-Technical training as well as individualized schedules to explore academic and personal interests.

This quiet township has few retail and commercial spaces. However, those looking for a cheesy slice of pie can visit Nico's Pizza on State Road 73. Less than five minutes down the road is the popular diner, So Much to Give Inclusive Café, frequented during breakfast and lunchtime. You can pick up fresh produce at O&F Farms or Merrymeade Farm, a local staple. "Merrymeade is an agritainment spot where people love to get ice cream and have birthday parties," one local says. "And during the fall, Merrymeade has hayrides, pumpkin patches and corn mazes. It's very family-friendly!"

In the heart of the community is Heebner Park, an 80-acre public space that sets the stage for outdoorsy recreational pursuits. Athletic-leaning locals may play a friendly game on the baseball fields or partake in a neighborhood soccer match. The park is also an open invitation to play a game of pickup basketball or practice their backhand on the courts. Meandering walking trails lead through Heebner Park's fields and woodlands. The pathway offers access to Zacharias Creek Trail for a serene stroll alongside the trickling waters. The slow-moving creek flows into the meadows of Evansburg State Park, west of the township. Here, you can partake in seasonal hunting and fishing or tee off at the Skippack Golf Club. Others may take to the Worcester Golf Club greens, about a mile away. Worcester Township is an exurban community with a charming, rural feel, located an hour's drive from Philadelphia's bustling brick and concrete backdrop.
