Highway 243 is the single main road in Pine Cove. Palm Springs International Airport is about 47 miles away. Hemet Global Medical Center is about 25 miles away. The area is great for hiking, but not for pedestrians, bike lanes or buses.

The public schools are at least 22 miles away, going westward down the mountain: Valle Vista Elementary School, rated C-plus; Dartmouth Middle, rated B-minus; and Hemet High, rated B-plus. Hemet High offers dual enrollment classes in English and math through Mount San Jacinto College.
