Many homes with a view of the White Deer Run Golf Course
In suburban Vernon Hills, Gregg's Landing offers a living experience that differs from those around it. Here, developers designed the 18 holes of White Deer Run Golf Course and the housing developments around it to complement one another. “There are about 12 or 13 pods that branch out from the main road, where several houses back up to the golf course,” says Jeff Ohm, president of Premier Realty Group based in Vernon Hills. “Usually, only the most expensive homes have golf course views. Here, that’s not necessarily the case.” In addition to the beauty and functionality of the community golf course, Lake Charles and a couple of neighborhood parks provide recreational opportunities. Further, the Gregg's Landing's location places it within Hawthorn District 73, a highly rated Vernon Hills school district, and 40 miles outside north of Chicago.

Lake Charles Park has a lake for fishing, picnic shelters and a barbecue grill. There are separate playgrounds for younger and older kids and plenty of parking off Greggs Parkway. Hawthorn Mellody Park has a half-mile lighted walking path, a baseball diamond and a beach volleyball court. Charles Brown Park, part of the Libertyville Park District, is right next door. The nearly 22-acre facility has an inclusive playground, basketball court and picnic tables.
