With significant highways bordering the area, Southwest San Antonio is a convenient access point outside the city. Highway 90 and Interstate 35 provide direct routes to Downtown. Route 1604 encircles San Antonio, leading to other communities surrounding the city. The VIA Metropolitan Transit bus makes trips throughout the city until 1 a.m. While there are none here, some bus stops are to the north, centered around Kriewald Road. The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is about 23 miles northeast on Airport Boulevard.Tex-Mex and grocery
The Shops at Luckey Ranch provide an outlet area with restaurants like Lou’s Woodfire Pizza, 90 Proof Bar & Grill and El Guacamole Mexican Grill. With a barber shop and a nail salon, the Shops at Luckey Ranch are vital to Southwest San Antonio. La Esquinita is a restaurant with classic Tex-Mex dishes in a homey diner with fresh carne asada. In nearby Castroville, Luigi’s Italian Restaurant has authentic Italian cuisine with stained glass windows and a red-brick patio. For groceries, Walmart Supercenter is in Castroville on Highway 90, and H-E-B plus! is on Macdonald Street in Lytle.Nature parks and golf courses
Hendrick Arnold Nature Park has 74 acres of hiking and horse-riding trails through the Medina River woodlands. Salas Family Park is another area with swimming holes along the river. Two of the region’s premier golf courses are nearby: the Golf Club of Texas and Briggs Ranch Golf Club. Blackhawk Shooting Range has target practice, and Charlie’s Paintball is a fenced-in course for teams to compete. The Luckey Ranch subdivision includes a private park with a basketball court, baseball field, splash pad and a pond to fish for bass.Traders Village flea market
Traders Village is a flea market every weekend, with over 1,000 vendors selling tools, electronics and collectibles. The Market also features amusement park rides, live music and a petting zoo.
