Wallis is vulnerable to flooding since it’s located within the Brazos River watershed. There are also parks, several museums and a walkable downtown area. The closest hospital, OakBend Medical Center, is in Richmond, also about 20 miles away.
Wallis Memorial Nature Park is located off Commerce Street and offers tables and grills for cooking out. Less than 2 miles from the city’s center is Mynarik Park, off Highway 60. This park is larger and has a catch and release pond, a playground, basketball court, walking path and covered pavilion.
