Northeast Warren is a vast community that blends suburbia with urbanism. Complete with highly rated schools, well-kept homes and close-knit neighbors, it's the only Warren neighborhood not anchored by industry. In fact, while most of the city is heavily industrial, this corner is primarily comprised of single-family homes, creating a quiet suburban feel. Despite this, its main streets offer "Everything you need," says David Chapman, Realtor with Chaps Realty. "Entertainment, dining, shopping. It offers everything to everybody, whatever niche you're looking for."
North Warren's safe, walkable neighborhoods constantly attract new families.

Shopping on main streets including Van Dyke and 13 Mile
Shopping and dining is spread throughout Northeast Warren, the largest commercial district being Van Dyke Avenue. "It's like the biggest artery of business and has the most options," Chapman says. "Restaurants, huge strip malls, banks. Any type of need that you have, it's there." It borders this community to the west and offers big box stores such as Walmart and Lowe's, along with chain restaurants and local favorites, including Malone's Tavern. The laid-back pub has served residents for over 20 years and is known for its vast beer selection and daily specials. There are other commercial pockets on 12 Mile, 13 Mile and 14 Mile. Randazzo Fresh Market sits on 13 Mile, adjacent to a Kroger. This metro Detroit chain is well regarded for its large produce selection, fresh meats and bakery. It also serves hot meals, including its most popular item, pizza baked in wood ovens.

1960s Colonial Revival and Ranch-style homes
Coving roads and cul-de-sacs feature Colonial Revival and Ranch-style homes. While most were built in the 1960s, a handful were built in the early 2000s. A few condos and apartments exist, but most properties are single-family. Homes sit on about a quarter acre each and are framed by manicured front and back yards. The attached garages offer off-street parking, and stretching trees shade the sidewalks below. While many homes have been modernized, plenty have 60s appeal. "You can choose a home that has not been remodeled, and it still showcases the retro, vintage feel of the home, and we have those newly remodeled homes," says Edyta Raganiewicz, a Realtor with Century 21 Curran & Oberski. Homes generally sell between $140,000 and $500,000 depending on the size and year built. Condos sell between $65,000 and $275,000.
