From affordable Cape Cods to pricier new-traditional homes

Homebuyers looking in West Caldwell will find a variety of housing styles, and these homes don’t stay on the market for very long. “Homes here go very quick,” Frank LaMorte, Broker Associate at Lattimer Realty says. “There’s a lot of demand from city buyers looking to move to the suburbs. It’s a hot market.” Starting at $370,000 and going for as much as $950,000, Cape Cods, split-level and ranch-style homes are common. New-traditional homes also line some streets and are a bit pricier, going for between $900,000 and $1.1 million. Along most neighborhood streets, residents can find maple and oak trees and sidewalks on at least one side, making West Caldwell a walkable community. West Caldwell is also a safe neighborhood as it was given a Crime Score of 2 out of 10 by the CAP Index, well below the national average.

Cool off at one of two community pools

Residents looking to cool off from the hot summer can do so at one of the two community pools in the neighborhood. Both Westville Avenue and Cedar Street pools have basketball courts, playgrounds and offer swimming lessons. For smaller children, Cedar Street Pool has a separate kiddie pool. At Memorial Park, next door to the Cedar Street pool, visitors can play tennis with friends or kick around a soccer ball. “Grover Cleveland Park is a big attraction,” Giermanski says. “They have a fishing derby every May.
