Niagara is between urban and country living

On the border between the countryside and the city, Niagara, 4 miles from Niagara Falls, is close to major cities, shopping, dining and recreation. “The town of Niagara is really nice because there’s a lot of space..., but you are in very close proximity to cities like Niagara Falls,” says Joseph Sciandra, a Realtor with Avant Realty. Sciandra has worked in the industry for 15 years. “The town of Niagara can give you access to the waterfront and other amenities that a city could offer, but outside of the city.” Niagara has access to shopping and dining, but there are also stretches of farmland and green recreational spaces. The town bridges the gap between the cities’ dense urban areas and the rural farmland just outside its borders.

There’s a splash pad where little ones can stay cool in the summer. The park also hosts weekly music festivals in the summer. Bordering the town, Reservoir State Park has a playground and spaces for baseball, basketball, and tennis. Visitors may fish in the reservoir or enjoy the view from the walking path. Devil’s Hole State Park, 6 miles from the town, borders the Niagara River and has views of the Devil’s Hole Rapids. The park has picnic benches and hiking trails. Visitors may cross-country ski and snowshoe in the winter. The jewel of the region, Niagara Falls State Park, is 5 miles from Niagara. Entertainment in Niagara Falls

In downtown Niagara Falls, the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, 5 miles away, is a popular entertainment destination, with table games, fashion shows and concerts. Near the river, Maid of the Mist offers a boat tour of the falls. Traveling to Niagara Falls, Buffalo and Canada

“There are bridges to get into Canada. I’m noticing that many people buying are moving to the states from Canada. They moved for work, took a short ride over the bridge and are living here now,” says Sciandra. Canada is 6 miles from Niagara, by using Lockport Road and crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Lockport Road also leads 4 miles to downtown Niagara Falls. State Route 265 leads 3 miles to Niagara University. Interstate 190 cuts through the town and leads 19 miles to Buffalo. The Niagara Falls International Airport is nearby and flight noise may add to the already busy atmosphere. Sciandra says residents who live in this area are also closer to Niagara Falls, which draws millions of visitors a year. The Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is 4 miles away. Colonial Village Presbyterian Church, Niagara Presbyterian Church and St. Leo Roman Catholic Church are some houses of worship in the area.
