The neat interlocking streets of subdivisions give way to three connected nature preserves managed by DuPage County. A vast range of prices
"There's Danada East, North, and West," explains Amy Kehoe, Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Chicago. "Each of them is a little bit different. Danada North has bigger homes, and they're more expensive." Prices in the neighborhood range from $250,000 to $2 million. For under $300,000, buyers can purchase a three-bedroom attached townhouse. Detached, four-bedroom Georgian-style homes can be found for under $550,000. New traditional colonial-style homes are listed for $875,000. At the top of the price range, 21st-century millennium mansions with Victorian elements and amenities like in-ground swimming pools are listed for under $2 million.

Pre-K through university
Students in the neighborhood can look forward to attending the highly rated Briar Glen Elementary, Hubble Middle and Wheaton Warrenville South High School. Briar Glen Elementary School is walkable from many homes and received an A rating from Niche. Hubble Middle School also received an A rating and offers several athletic programs for students, including cross country, wrestling and basketball. Wheaton Warrenville South High School received an A-plus rating from Niche and has over 30 extracurricular activities for students, including a coding club, a fencing club and an ultimate frisbee club. The well-regarded private Christian university, Wheaton, and the local community College of DuPage are next door.

Miles of forests
Next door to the College of DuPage campus is The Cleve Carney Museum of Art, which houses a vast collection donated by a local philanthropist. Briar Patch Park is a six-acre park on the east side of North Danada. Seven Gables Park is on the neighborhood's west side and features 65 acres of recreational areas. Just south of the neighborhood is Danada Forest, part of DuPage County's impressive collection of nature preserves. Residents on the south side of this neighborhood can bike or walk to trailheads leading over 3 miles through prairies, woods and wetlands in the 800-acre preserve. There's also an equestrian center and fishing areas.

Great restaurants around Naperville
ALDI, Jewel-Osco, Whole Foods Market and Pete's Fresh Market are all located in the shopping centers in the neighborhood. In its article, The Best Restaurants in Naperville, Eater Magazine recommends four restaurants near North Danada. Interstate 88 runs east to Chicago from here, and right off the Naperville Road exit is a business park called Freedom Commons. Some of the best eateries in Chicago's western suburbs sit here, among hotels and chain restaurants. Mapo is a Chinese Hunan-style eatery. MingHin Cuisine is open every day all year for dim sum. Schmaltz Delicatessen serves Jewish deli staples to suburbanites looking for a good pastrami sandwich. The White Chocolate Grill is named for its desserts but offers an excellent grilled fish and chops menu. A half-mile south, drivers will find a Costco and a branch of the national Asian grocery chain H-Mart.

It's cold!
With a very low crime score of 3 and two hospitals within a 5-mile radius, North Danada is as safe as a suburb gets. The most significant risks around here are the cold temperatures and attendant dangers for drivers and others, especially elderly residents who may not have regular help. Lutheran and Methodist churches are the area's most common houses of worship, and residents will find mosques and synagogues nearby.

The Greater Chicago Area's Metra Train stops 3 miles north in Wheaton. Trains run every 5 minutes, and commuters can be in the Loop in 45 minutes. But the ride back to North Danada is better.
