A riverside suburb with retail amenities, south of Parsippany
Whippany is a northern New Jersey suburb integrating elements of the larger community to the north: Parsippany-Troy Hills. Filled with multiple parks, Whippany has the quiet green quality of Troy Hills. Some residents want to preserve this natural quality of Whippany. “There’s been more development near this area, which has been controversial,” says Triveni Gurikar, a broker associate with Re/Max, who has sold homes in Morris County since 1987. There are several retail conveniences along Route 10, which feels comparable to the bustling parts of Parsippany. In 2019, the major banking institution Barclays moved hundreds of jobs from Delaware to Whippany, growing the local employment base.
