White City is a metro township and residential enclave in Sandy, Utah, about 17 miles south of Salt Lake City. According to Michael Wolters, a Realtor with Keller Williams - Salt Lake City and over 20 years of experience, homes here are more affordable than in neighboring communities. “You get the luxury of being located within the Sandy borders [without paying] the Sandy prices for homes,” says Wolters. Residents enjoy a neighborly lifestyle with community events like the annual Southeast Township Days, local parks and convenient access to nearby shopping and dining centers like The Shops at South Town, all set by the rising Wasatch Mountains in the east. “The main attraction of White City is its central location. It’s close to Salt Lake City, and it’s close to just about everything you might need in terms of amenities,” says Carlos Nelson, a Realtor with RealtyPath who has worked in the area for over 10 years.

Single-family homes in a sought-after area
The average home value in White City is about $540,000, and homes typically range between $475,000 and $700,000. “Homes tend to sell quickly due to its desirable location and proximity to the eastern Wasatch Mountains,” says Wolters. Neighbors enjoy sidewalk-lined streets with well-maintained lawns and tall, mature trees. Most homes are renovated, late-20th-century single-story or split-level ramblers. A typical four-or-five-bed, two-bath single-story rambler goes for about $500,000, while a newly renovated version starts around $550,000. Homes that go for $600,000 or more often have features like RV parking, a second kitchen or back porches. “The price points are close to average for the area, although they might be a little higher than other places further from Salt Lake,” says Nelson. “We don’t see a lot of first-time homebuyers in White City, but the prices typically aren’t so high that families can’t afford them.”
