White Hall has a tight-knit atmosphere close to major job centers
White Hall started as a small town but has grown due to job centers nearby, including the Pine Bluff Arsenal and the National Center for Toxicological Research. Despite its growth, White Hall maintains a close community atmosphere with many attractions and events for all ages. “I actually grew up in white Hall, moved, went to college and moved back because I love it so much,” says Hayley Harper-Wreyford, the principal broker for Lunsford & Associates Realty Co. “I would say it’s a small town, but it's not so small anymore, but it's a very close-knit and strong community. Lots of growth, excellent school district, phenomenal housing opportunities and quality homes at affordable prices.”
Government installations and heavy industry nearby
The Pine Bluff Arsenal, adjacent to White Hall, employs over 700 people, and is one of the only active-duty Army installations in the state. The National Center for Toxicological Research, next to the arsenal, is part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Other nearby industries include Tyson Foods, UPS and a wood pellet plant belonging to Highland Pellets.
Lower-cost single-family homes with low HOA activity
The median home price is $169,000, lower than the national median. Ranch styles and Cape Cods can range between $100,000 and $250,000. Split-levels and New Traditional homes are between $240,000 and $480,000. Land is available. Harper-Wreyford says some neighborhoods have homeowners associations, but fees are low.
Harper-Wreyford notes that White Hall has also attracted families, Little Rock commuters and those working in nearby industries.
According to Flood Maps from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, properties near local creeks are at risk of flooding. Severe storms and tornadoes can also be factors.
White Hall School District has multiple elementary school options
Students attend the White Hall School District, graded B on Niche. They are zoned for Gandy Elementary School, ranked B-minus, Taylor Elementary or Moody Elementary, which both have a B-plus. Pupils move on to B-rated White Hall Junior High. White Hall High School earns a B and has business, finance and agriculture classes.
Community spaces, community events and entertainment in Pine Bluff
White Hall City Park has six baseball fields, walking trails and an amphitheater. The White Hall Community Center offers indoor sports courts and a track. The Crenshaw Springs Water Park is open in the summer and features multiple slides, pools and a lazy river.
The White Hall Museum is free to visit and features military artifacts and works by local artists. Local events include Founder’s Day, which features a parade, a talent showcase and multiple food and craft stalls.
Pine Bluff has more entertainment options such as the Saracen Casino Resort.
Dining and shopping on Dollarway, Sheridan Roads and U.S. Highway 270
The bulk of White Hall’s restaurants are on Dollarway Road, Sheridan Road and U.S. Highway 270 and include a mix of chains and local spots. The Wood Shed BBQ serves ribs, brisket and chicken. Curry Express features Indian dishes, including biryani, naan and tandoori chicken. El Parian has tacos, burritos and enchiladas.
Grocery stores include Brookshire’s and Super 1 Foods. The community also has several dollar stores and convenience stores. Larger big-box stores are to the southwest in Pine Bluff. Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital is located on Holland Avenue.
Interstate connections and access to Clinton National Airport
Dollarway Road connects to downtown Pine Bluff. Interstate 530 runs along the western edge of White Hall and connects to Little Rock. Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport is 37 miles north.
