Secluded township in the Allegheny Mountain

Within the Allegheny Mountains, White Township is a rural community and a nature lovers' hotspot, offering direct access to one of the most popular parks in the state. The town is surrounded by Gallitzin State Forest, with massive oak trees secluding the homes. Within the township, residents can spend the day doing everything from hiking along trails to relaxing on the water. “We have thousands of acres of state parks in this part of the state,” says Henry Hillegass, a Realtor with Howard Hanna Bardell Realty, who was born and raised in Bedford and has been selling homes in the area since 2018. “You have access to pretty much anything you could want to do.”

Cabins starting in the $100,000s

Homes here were built between the 1980s and the 2010s. “It’s pretty much an equal split with homes,” says Hillegass. “There are older homes, newer properties and some nice fixer-uppers.” Cabins, manufactured homes and ranch-style houses sit on lots sized anywhere from a half-acre to 10 acres. Homes include driveways, and some may come with attached or detached garages. Houses here typically sell for $100,000 to $300,000.
