Northeast of downtown Wichita, Ken-Mar is composed of a strip mall and residential streets of smaller houses on compact lots often shaded by tall trees. The area isn’t walkable for errands, but many of the streets have sidewalks for strolls around the neighborhood. Every other week, each grade attends a class about money management. Students practice fiscal responsibility daily with Adams Bucks, a program that rewards students with earnings that they can spend at the Adams Trading Post. The WSU campus offers nearby cultural attractions like the Ulrich Museum of Art, where people can admire thousands of pieces from photography to paintings. The museum also boasts the Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection. To watch a Shockers basketball game, locals can go to the Charles Koch Arena, nicknamed “The Roundhouse” for its circular design.
