The WSU campus offers nearby cultural attractions like the Ulrich Museum of Art, where people can admire thousands of pieces from photography to paintings. The museum also boasts the Martin H. Northeast of downtown Wichita, Ken-Mar is composed of a strip mall and residential streets of smaller houses on compact lots often shaded by tall trees. Students in Ken-Mar attend Wichita Public Schools, which earns a B-minus on Niche. Schools include Adams Elementary, Coleman Environmental Magnet Middle School and Wichita Southeast High School. The elementary school earns a C-minus grade, the middle has a C and the high school earns a C-plus rating on Niche. Adams Elementary focuses its course of study on economics and entrepreneurship. Every other week, each grade attends a class about money management. Students practice fiscal responsibility daily with Adams Bucks, a program that rewards students with earnings that they can spend at the Adams Trading Post. Students also start savings accounts and visit the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City.

From a playground to a rail trail
Stretching over 11 acres, Claude Lambe Park has a fishing pond where visitors can spot local wildlife. Children can run around on the playground, swing set and small ropes course. For hiking or biking, a portion of Wichita’s 18-mile Redbud Trail, a rail trail, also runs through the neighborhood. It even leads to the 18-hole public fairway at the MacDonald Golf Course.
