Wichita State University, Glen Dey Park and industrial plants surround Northeast Millair
Less than 1 mile from Wichita State University, Northeast Millair is a residential enclave surrounded by activity. “It’s close to the University, but it’s not a popular area for college students because there aren’t any apartment complexes,” says Bernardo Flores, the owner-broker of Fiesta Real Estate, who has sold several homes in the area. “You get to be near all the fun stuff on campus, but it won’t directly affect your life.” The 126-acre Glen Dey Park is in the neighborhood’s northern area, and its paved walking path allows children to walk to Gordon Academy. Residents can also drive to Broadway Boulevard to devour a Mexican meal or hop on Interstate 135 to quickly reach other Wichita locations. “There’s an industrial district just north of the neighborhood, so it’s incredibly convenient for people who work there to live in northeast Millair,” says Flores.

Northeast Millair is a rental-heavy neighborhood
Northeast Millair’s gridded streets are lined with Minimal Traditional ranch styles built throughout the 1950s. These two-to-three-bedroom homes have private driveways or attached one-car garages. Chain link fences surround their 8,000-square-foot lots in the back and front yards. “These are investment properties. Most people are buying here to gut and remodel,” says Flores. Cul-de-sacs in the neighborhood’s northern region have a few brick-and-vinyl-facade New Traditional homes built within the last decade. Though the neighborhood is 55% percent renters, buying here typically costs between $50,000 and $100,000, a range lower than a Wichita home’s average $250,000 selling price.
Minimal traditional ranch-styled homes are very common in Northeast Millair.
