Condos, duplexes and single-family homes
Homebuyers can find two-bedroom condos on the south side of Harrison Park. They can range anywhere from 650 to 1,800 square feet, selling for $85,000 to $125,000. Two- to three-bedroom duplexes are located on the southeast side of the park. They’re built with attached two-car garages and sell for around $180,000 to $200,000. Just north are single-family homes built between the 1970s and 1990s, including a mix of Cape Cods, ranch-style and split-level houses on nearly quarter-acre lots. “I sold a home there that backed right up to the park,” says Caleb Claussen, a Realtor with Reece Nichols South Central Kansas, who sells in the city. “It had a nice view of the park pond from the backyard.” Most of these three- to four-bedroom houses have attached two-car garages and fenced backyards and sell for around $225,000 to $300,000. Just east of the duplexes is a newer housing development with a homeowners association called Ballyclare. It features more than 70 Craftsman-style homes built in the early 2000s, most of which have attached three-car garages. They sell for around $350,000 to $450,000, including the six houses with views of Ballyclare Pond.Harrison Park recreation and private amenities for Ballyclare residents
Residents can walk to Harrison Park to exercise on the 0.75-mile fitness trail leading to every park amenity. Visitors can cast a line in the stocked fishing pond, let their dogs loose in the dog park and have fun on the playground or the splash pad. The park has a rugby and softball field used by local leagues, along with basketball, pickleball and futsal courts open to the public. Residents of Ballyclare can enjoy casual strolls on the walkway around the private pond. They can also beat the heat at the community pool located next to a playground.C-plus graded public schools
Wichita Public School serves the neighborhood, with each school earning a C-plus grade from Niche. Students start at Seltzer Elementary School before moving on to Christa McAuliffe Academy and Wichita Southeast High School. The high school, commonly known as Southeast, is one of the largest in the city. It teaches performing arts courses, has a college and career center and includes student organizations like Writing Buffs, Scholars’ Bowl and Science Olympiad.A 7-mile drive to downtown
Wichita Metro operates bus routes along Harry Street. U.S. Route 400, which is named Kellogg Drive, is about 1.5 miles north. From there, it’s about a 6-mile drive to downtown. The same road leads straight to Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, about 11 miles away. It’s also about a 2.5-mile drive to the closest Interstate 35 onramp.Local restaurants at Harry Street and Webb Road
Several restaurants are at the junction of Harry Street and Webb Road. Locals can grab a bite to eat from Felipe’s Jr. Mexican Restaurant, enjoy the all-you-can-eat buffet at Gambino’s Pizza every weekday or stop by Asian Bistro for some pho and other Vietnamese classics.
