Southeast Wichita neighborhood next to Harrison Park
Life is literally a walk in the park in Park Meadows. This Southeast Wichita neighborhood is just steps away from Harrison Park and all the outdoor recreation it has to offer. Residents are nearby a grocery store and the many restaurants along Harry Street on the south side of the neighborhood. While close to commercial activity, this neighborhood has a laid-back feel with a variety of housing options, from condos, to duplexes and single-family homes, with some houses in a development with a private lake and pool.
Condos, duplexes and single-family homes
Homebuyers can find two-bedroom condos on the south side of Harrison Park. They can range anywhere from 650 to 1,800 square feet, selling for $85,000 to $125,000. Two- to three-bedroom duplexes are located on the southeast side of the park. They’re built with attached two-car garages and sell for around $180,000 to $200,000. Just north are single-family homes built between the 1970s and 1990s, including a mix of Cape Cods, ranch-style and split-level houses on nearly quarter-acre lots. “I sold a home there that backed right up to the park,” says Caleb Claussen, a Realtor with Reece Nichols South Central Kansas, who sells in the city. “It had a nice view of the park pond from the backyard.” Most of these three- to four-bedroom houses have attached two-car garages and fenced backyards and sell for around $225,000 to $300,000. Just east of the duplexes is a newer housing development with a homeowners association called Ballyclare. It features more than 70 Craftsman-style homes built in the early 2000s, most of which have attached three-car garages. They sell for around $350,000 to $450,000, including the six houses with views of Ballyclare Pond.
