Rockwood's quiet enclaves and commercial corridors
Valued for its community pool and its location along a commercial thoroughfare, Wichita's Rockwood neighborhood offers an abundance of year-round conveniences in addition to its summer fun. “Rockwood is centrally located,” says Sonja Seidl, a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway PenFed Realty. “There is a lot to do both inside and outside the neighborhood, but it’s still a very quiet and traditional neighborhood.”

1970s-era homes in Rockwood
Lining Rockwood’s winding roads are a variety of dwellings built throughout the 1970s, from ranch styles with neoclassical or Tudor details to Colonial Revival split-levels and Cape Cod-style houses. These homes all sit on quarter-acre lots and have four to five bedrooms. They’ll also cost anywhere between $400,000 and $600,000, a range above a Wichita home’s average $200,000 selling price. “It’s a well-established area, and every house looks different than the next,” says Seidl. “So, people are always looking to move here, and houses can sell pretty quickly.”
