Ranch-style homes are the norm in the neighborhood, but there are also colonials, split levels and bungalows throughout the neighborhood. "There are a lot of beautiful expanded ranch homes in Village," says Schraml-Wiggans. Village is home to wide streets thanks to its lack of sidewalks. Lawns in this neighborhood are well-kept and typically have a tree or two growing in the center, creating streets that aren't quite tree-lined, but residents can still enjoy Fall foliage.

Village's youngest learners begin their academic journey at Caldwell Elementary School, which has a C-minus rating on Niche. Students continue at B-plus-rated Robinson Middle School and continue their secondary academic journey at East High School, which has a B-plus rating on Niche and is known for its sports teams. It's common to see area residents come out in droves to support the Blue Aces on Game Night.

Getting around Wichita
U.S. Route 400, called Kellogg Avenue by locals, runs along the neighborhood. "Kellogg is the main corridor for all of Wichita," says Schraml-Wiggans. "It's super convenient. That's one reason people do enjoy living in the area." While most residents use cars to get around Kansas, the neighborhood is unique for its proximity to the Q-Line, a public bus system that ferries area residents in and out of downtown Wichita.

Important to know
Robert J. Dole Department of Veterans Affairs Medical and Regional Office Center is located beside the neighborhood. Many neighborhood residents work in Downtown Wichita, and airline companies like Boeing and Spirit have offices in the city. "Wichita is the air capital of the world," says Schraml-Wiggans. McConnell Air Force Base is less than five miles from the neighborhood and is also home to the Kansas Aviation Museum.
Downtown events
Residents can head to Riverfront Baseball Stadium and the Interest Bank Arena for a night out. Many use the Q-Line to get into the city, and the stadium and the arena are a draw for sports fans and residents who want to go to a live concert.
