Easy access to Interstate 55
Because many Darien residents commute to Chicago for work, the easy drive is a major draw of the neighborhood. “Most of it is proximity to the city and access to the highway,” says real estate agent Deneen Ruffolo with Realty Executives Midwest, a Darien resident of several decades. Drivers can hop on Interstate 55 for a 30-minute drive to the city center, whether it’s for their daily commute or for a weekend outing in the Windy City.

It's quiet and pretty safe. At the same time the commerce is slim and there no real sense of community. Property values have gone down in certain areas.

Safe community and area to live in. Feel safe at night. Low crime rates, and the crimes that happen are generally low risk for others. It is an expensive area, but the schools are excellent, and it has a great location. It is close to many important highways. Also, it is far enough from Chicago but still close enough. I think it is a lovely suburb, but it is no Hinsdale.
