A range of older single-family homes on large lots
Developed between the late 1960s and early 2000s, Lansdowne features an eclectic mix of home styles. Colonial Revivals and Cape Cods sit between ranch-style homes and split-levels. In addition to the diversity of styles, homes here also feature a diversity of exterior and interior features. “Sometimes you’ll find Hardie Plank or wood siding. Some homes have been updated and some haven’t,” Ashworth says. These single-family homes typically rest on lots over a third of an acre, neatly landscaped with flowering ornamental trees. Prices range from $300,000 to $680,000. Ashworth notes the market is competitive: Properties typically sell after about 38 days on the market, roughly 10 days faster than the national average.Parks, a golf course and the beach are all close to Lansdowne
From beach days and boat cruises to morning walks at the neighborhood park, Lansdowne residents have multiple ways to enjoy the great outdoors. A paved path loops around James E.L. Wade Park. Set on 17 acres of wetlands, it features a playground and a boardwalk overlook where walkers and bikers can spot wildlife like birds, turtles and butterflies. Along with being a natural habitat, the park is designed to collect and treat stormwater runoff before it reaches Hewletts Creek nearby. Trails End Park offers a fishing pier and a public boat ramp to access the Intracoastal Waterway. It neighbors the private Masonboro Yacht Club. “Not every neighborhood is close to a public boat ramp,” Ashworth says. “We take our boat and get lunch and drinks on the water. My personal favorite is Dockside. It’s a great place where all the locals hang out during the week. There’s also Mason’s Inlet. People dock their boats to spend their day on the little islands.” Pine Valley Country Club, which features a private 18-hole course, is a nearby golf option. The club prides itself on having a family-friendly environment, fostered through a variety of social events at the club’s multiple restaurants, as well as friendly competition on the tennis courts and the club-sponsored swim team. Wrightsville Beach, known for its surfing and lively bars, is less than 10 miles away.Students can attend A-rated public and private schools
