Conservation land and residential roads make up West Tatnuck
West Tatnuck offers a natural setting, with winding, tree-shaded roads and acres of conservation land. Though locals often enjoy hiking to the top of waterfalls and past farm animals grazing pastures, the community is within Worcester city limits. “All the biggest employers are just 10 to 15 minutes away,” says Joe Abramoff, a broker with BA Property & Lifestyle Advisors, who has sold several homes in the area. “People commute into the city to work at the hospitals and universities, and then they get to come home to a place that’s really quiet.” West Tatnuck also offers easy access to Worcester Regional Airport and major highways, like Interstate 90.
Houses sell quickly in West Tatnuck
Mid-20th-century ranch styles and late ‘90s New Traditionals are also common. Maple, oak and pine trees often shade lawns, with the median lot size a little over a quarter-acre. Houses typically have two to five bedrooms and driveways. Smaller homes can cost between $300,000 and $600,000, while larger homes on big lots usually range from $700,000 to over $1 million. The community also has condos, with prices starting at $215,000 and reaching $250,000. On average, homes sell after 18 days on the market, which is significantly faster than the national average. “I’ve had a few houses sell way above asking price and within four days of being on the market,” Abramoff says. West Tatnuck has a CAP Index Crime Score of 3 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.

Today, members also have access to the pool, tennis courts and restaurant. Despite its proximity, joining the club isn’t a must for locals. “It’s there if you want to join it, but it’s not the end-all, be-all for the community,” Abramoff says

Locals may hear noise from the airport, but it's not too much of a disturbance. “There isn’t any super noticeable noise pollution,” Abramoff says. Interstate 90, about 10 miles south, reaches Boston with another 40-mile drive east.
