A community-focused city
Set just north of Columbus, Worthington is a city with a strong sense of self. With a population of around 15,000, this first-ring Columbus suburb is known for being well-established and low-key. "Worthington has a different vibe—more intellectual, less showy," says Mike Parsons, a broker with Parsons Real Estate. "It's focused on schools and culture versus the McMansion." This attitude, along with well-attended events that appeal to wide swaths of the community, fosters a sense of camaraderie among residents. "There's a sense that we'll support anything needed to make this a better community for everyone," says Glenn Moog, a Realtor with Keller Williams Capital Partners.
Several subdivisions showcase mid-century ranches, reflecting Worthington’s suburban development history.

The median price for homes in Worthington is in the mid-$400,000s, above the national median price. Downtown is known for its historic homes, including Colonial and Victorian designs. "The architecture is amazing," says Cathe Moog, operations manager with Keller Williams Capital Partners. "Our historic district is a core of activity for social and business gatherings." New Traditional homes line the streets of Olentangy Highlands , while Rush Creek Village is known for its Frank Lloyd Wright-style architecture.
Most residents have a commute for work. "In the Columbus area, most businesses are looking for places where they can build the big, big buildings and have access to all the newer amenities," says Parsons. "We're not quite there yet, so there haven't been many big names setting up here." However, Worthington has a foothold, with employers from the manufacturing and medical industries set up in the industrial corridor on the city's east side.
