Riverfest is Westchester’s largest one-day festival, taking place at Yonkers Downtown in September. Yonkers Arts Weekend is a two-day festival in May with over 200 exhibiting artists and dozens of workshops. And near Riverdale Avenue in August, the Dominican Festival offers live music and local vendors.
Sports facilities at Pelton Park
Heafy Park is a small pocket park in McLean Heights with a playground. Pelton Park is just north of the neighborhood with a futsal court, baseball and softball diamonds, a basketball court and a playground. Tibbetts Brook Park is a mile north and offers a 2-mile trail and a large aquatic complex. And Van Cortlandt Park’s 1,100 total acres include a 7.5-mile trail, dozens of sports facilities and the Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course, which is the oldest public course in the country.
