Commuting on the Bee-Line, Metro-North Railroad and I-87
Tibbets Hills earns a high walkability rating because of its compact layout. Westchester County Bee-Line bus stops can be found along McLean Avenue. Ludlow Station with Hudson Line service can be accessed 1.5 miles west, while Wakefield Station with Harlem Line service is 1.5 miles east. Conor Park is in the east end of the neighborhood with tennis courts, a basketball court and a playground. Along McLean Avenue, there’s a trailhead for the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail, a 41-mile trailway through Westchester County. Just north, Tibbetts Brook Park is a 161-acre recreation hub with sports facilities for tennis, baseball and soccer, as well as over 2 miles of paved trails. The park also features a large aquatic complex that’s open seasonally with slides, pools and a splash pad. Van Cortlandt Park is another large park a mile south offering dozens of sports facilities, over 7 miles of trails and the oldest public golf course in the country.

ACME Markets is on McLean Avenue for groceries. Super Delicatessen is a local bodega with a deli and packaged goods. There are also popular restaurants like Dia & Noche for modern Latin cuisine, Cocina Burger Shop for American favorites and John's Pizzeria for slices and whole pies. Less than 2 miles north, Yonkers Downtown offers more shopping and dining. “It's more of a restaurant-heavy downtown,” says Moran. “Not many name brand stores, there’s a lot of mom-and-pop shops.”

Events at Yonkers Downtown
At Yonkers Downtown in September, Riverfest has been running since 1992 and is Westchester’s largest one-day festival. The festival has a bacon, egg and cheese cook-off, live music, food vendors and family activities. In May, Yonkers Arts Weekend is a two-day festival with over 200 exhibiting artists and dozens of workshops. And in August, the Dominican Festival features live music and local vendors.
