"Wick Park is full of old estates, homes that could be almost 100 years old at this point," says Realtor Erica Winner-Sauceman of Keller Williams Chervenic Realty. First opened in 1926, Stambaugh Auditorium is a concert hall featuring concerts and lectures. The facility was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Volunteer groups throughout the city work hard to promote a sense of community pride. The Youngstown Neighborhood Association advocates for preservation and togetherness through various events and regular meetings. Youngstown CItyScape is dedicated to the beautification of the greater downtown area. "We're a community development organization that invests time and energy to revitalize landmarks like Wick Park," says Sharon Letson, executive director of Youngstown CityScape. On the first Saturday after Memorial Day, Cityscape holds Planting Day, when over 1,000 people head downtown to prune, mulch and plant.
