Home to Utah State University, a public research university well known for its agricultural program, the city of Logan is more than just a college town situated at the top of Utah. Measuring 18 square miles, Logan is an eclectic mix of apartments and townhomes, handcrafted pioneer homes and post-war modern residences, along with communities of newly built and more contemporary houses. Logan was ranked third on a list of Best Places to Retire by CNN Money in 2007, and it was listed as the most walkable community in Utah in a study by Monday Report in 2009.

Logan has been growing in size since its foundation, with a current population of nearly 50,000 people. The pioneers planned this area carefully, and built their downtown in an easily accessible area with residential neighborhoods branching off the central downtown location. The Island Park and Cliffside neighborhoods are both located a short distance from downtown, with the Island Park neighborhood positioned in a small valley below Logan's downtown with Cliffside above it. Island Park is filled with smaller, well cared for homes built in the 1930s and 40s, while the Cliffside neighborhood boasts impressive views of Logan along with newer homes and a popular golf course. Above and to the west of the Island area, the University district neighborhood is conveniently located close to the University and its main buildings, and it features student housing mixed in with single-family residences, making for a unique small-town feel even while in the midst of a mid-sized college campus.

Because of the ever-fluctuating student population, Logan is also home to a diverse population of restaurants and stores that cater to the youthful majority of the population. Logan is an incredibly family-friendly city with plenty of activities and experiences available, such as swimming at the Logan Aquatic Center, tubing down the Logan River, hiking in Logan Canyon, taking in a show or concert at the Ellen Eccles Theatre, or attending the incredibly popular Summerfest Arts Fair, which features work from local as well as world-renowned artisans and crafters, as well as food, drinks, and plenty of children's activities. A strong economy with numerous local employers makes Logan a great place to purchase a home and put down roots.
