Convenient access to Louisville's major attractions
Living in Bradley means having close access to the biggest attractions in Louisville. "Overall, it is a great location close to I-65, which has always benefited those living in Bradley," says Mark Hack, broker-owner of GreenTree Real Estate Services and a local of the neighboring city of Jeffersonville, Indiana. "You are so close to the University of Louisville and the Highlands." Bradley rests east of the University of Louisville, so residents are a simple walk or drive away from seeing the Cards play football at Cardinal Stadium. Residents are also close to the Speed Art Museum, the Kentucky Kingdom amusement park, and Hurricane Bay Waterpark.

Head to Cottage Inn for comfort cuisine or Dairy Kastle for dessert
There's a rich variety of local restaurants in Bradley. Housed in a two-room building, the Cottage Inn specializes in southern comfort food and has been ingrained in the Bradley community since 1929. It's famous for its fried chicken, country fried steak and fried chicken livers. The Cottage Inn Hot Brown is the restaurant's version of the Louisville hot brown, a roasted turkey sandwich on white toast topped with melted cheese, bacon and tomatoes. The Derby City Pizza Company is a popular local pizza chain. At Derby City, the pie's toppings flow all the way to the cracker-crusted edge, and it's also well-known for its spaghetti, meatballs and garlic bread. New Wave Burritos, once a late-night delivery service, is now a dine-in restaurant whose theme is 80s nostalgia. From the new wave music, ambiance and signage, it's like stepping into a time machine. Popular burritos include the Tourist, which includes ancho roasted chicken and crunchy slaw. Locals often order them with a side of elote, a Mexican street food that is hot corn on the cob with mayo, flaming hot Cheetos, cotija cheese and lime juice. For dessert, Dairy Kastle is a soft-serve ice cream Louisville staple, serving classic banana split sundaes and chili dogs.

Brick single-story homes with suburban sidewalk space
Homes within the Bradley neighborhood are mostly brick bungalow-style houses built in the early 1900s. Because of its urban environment, homes are close together, and there are wide sidewalks for residents to jog or walk under shade trees in the hotter months. Homes start at around $150,000 for under 1,000 square foot cottages and go up to the mid $300,000s for three to four-bedroom, 2-story homes or duplexes. Residents should be advised that there are two cemeteries within the neighborhood, The Temple Cemetery and Keneseth Israel Cemetery, cut off from the residential streets by fencing and shrub growth.

I-65 for highway access and TARC buses for city commutes
Several TARC buses run along Eastern Parkway and Preston to access the Kentucky Expo Center or the University of Louisville campus directly. Interstate 65 borders Bradley to the south and can take residents into south Indiana and the greater Louisville area. Sokoler notes that “The fact that it’s a couple of miles from downtown makes it an easy commute for anyone working in the city.” Residents are also a 3-mile drive from Louisville International Airport, a major travel hub for Bourbon City. The low thrum of rising and landing jets can be heard from homes in Bradley, but it's far enough that it may not disturb light sleepers.
