With Fitch Park at the center of the neighborhood, the character of each side of the neighborhood differs. South of the park, small single-family ranch homes are the most prevalent, many of them built in the 1930s. Blending into the desert landscape, these refurbished houses generally go for up to $400,000. Plenty of shopping and dining in downtown Mesa
As a mainly residential neighborhood, Park Center Place doesn’t have much in the way of shopping or dining. In the northeast corner of the neighborhood, residents can buy groceries at Food City. Next door is Maya New York Pizza Bar & Grill, which hosts karaoke nights for locals. However, the neighborhood is just minutes from downtown Mesa. “Living here, you go to downtown Mesa for most things since you’re so close,” Van Cleve says. “I love Mangos Mexican Cafe, they’ve got great tacos.”

Spring training action in Park Center Place
The keystone of Park Center Place is Fitch Park, a neighborhood green space that doubles as the spring training home of Major League Baseball’s Oakland Athletics. Locals can stop by to watch the early spring action at the Lew Wolff Training Complex on one of four full-size baseball fields, as well as one infield-only diamond.
