About Firetree

Baldwin City KS is a thriving small community that still has a well-maintained downtown square where the city streets are still made of brick. The downtown area has several small businesses that include Homestead Kitchen and Bakery that sells the BEST and Largest cookies in the area as well as breakfast and lunch items! There is also a Mexican restaurant, a pizza place, and a couple of coffee shops. The Town Galleria is a shop where local artists can display handmade designer specific jewelry, home décor, leather works, and much more! There is a newer brewery that boasts a large indoor and outdoor entertainment space called the Baldwin City Beer Company. The beautifully maintained Baker University campus is always busy with people walking from place to place and the highlight of the campus is the Baker University Football Field known as Liston Stadium, where many games have taken place over the years. It was founded in 1958 and was the first four-year university in Kansas. This stadium is surrounded by a unique rock fence that serves as a memorial and features pillars with plaques dedicated to Baker students who died in the Great War. Baldwin City also has a local park on Grove Street that has not only a playground for kids to entertain themselves, but also a public swimming pool and monarch garden. On the main drag (Old 56 Hwy) there are a lot of local businesses that support the city. In conclusion, Baldwin City has many historical buildings throughout, and started out as a trail stop on the Santa Fe Trail and the Baldwin City Santa Fe Depot is now part of the National Register of Historic Places.

GreatSchools: The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process. About the Builder

Atteberry Homes is a family owned and operated, semi-custom home building company comprised of Paul, Mary, and Ethan Atteberry. Paul founded the company in 2022 after spending 31 years as an Air Traffic Controller at ZKC in Johnson County. Never being one to sit idle, Paul enjoyed retirement for a short time before finding his true calling. After watching one of his own kids struggle to find a home, he saw the need for well-built, attainable homes in the Kansas City area. Having experience with commercial real estate and a few residential home builds and remodels over the years, he decided to take matters into his own hands. Mary joined him on his mission soon after, bringing her organizational skills and computer wizardry from the IT world to the company - a valuable skill set that Paul was missing! Ethan, Paul’s son, quit his job of 6 years as a commercial construction project manager to make sure things in the field run smoothly.
