Energy Smart New Homes was born from the idea that homes could be modern, affordable, and energy efficient in 1991 by two friends that met during their college days at the University of Alabama. More than 30 years later, the two friends, both with the first name George, are still partners and friends. Together, through Energy Smart New Homes, more than 1000 energy efficient affordable homes have been built and sold in the Birmingham area. Today’s homes are built with many of the same subcontractors that worked with the company decades ago.
